The Auracle - Elemental (Prod. Beat Gates)
The Auracle is a multi-talented and multi-faceted musician/recording artist hailing from south London, UK. Born Joseph Guthrie, The Auracle’s life story is without doubt a Transatlantic one considering how much of his life has been spent in both the United States – emigrating first to New York then to Florida once the Green Card came through - and his native United Kingdom. Within hip-hop, The Auracle is a beatmaker, producer, and lyrically adept emcee. Away from hip-hop, he is a singer, songwriter, and competent multi-instrumentalist (piano/keyboard & drummer). elemental is a three-track EP that sees The Auracle making use of his skills as a rapper over sensational beats produced by the incomparable Beat Gates. Not ashamed of his unique approach and accent, The Auracle takes to the mic and lets it rip on the aggressive opener Public Service Announcement. The energy from the introductory track is then translated into the aptly named tune The Anthem before rounding out the mini-compilation with an ode to his beloved on the beautiful track entitled Yes.
We invite you to take a listen to a UK hip-hop artist who simply brings manages to bring a style of his own make and model to the table and does it incredibly well, thus standing alone as a towering force to be reckoned with.

J.Sosa - Stampede (Prod by JustMelv)
Who is Jonathan Sosa? That's the burning question that everybody is trying to figure out. After capturing the new artist spotlight, on Thatsenuff.com, and his recent feature on the critically acclaimed Tsu Surf project "Tsu Me", this young emcee's stock has seemingly skyrocketed overnight. Next up in his quest for notoriety is the heavily anticipated EP with Pro Club producer JustMelv. There has been nothing but speculation surrounding this project as of yet, but this leak may prove to be a tidbit of what's to come. There's no telling what to expect from these 2, but it's safe to say they've managed to hold me captive....at least for the moment.

Following a triumphant 2013 for the Mello Music Group label, with full-length releases from Oddisee, Quelle Chris, Ugly Heroes, 14KT and Gensu Dean & Planet Asia to name a few, Mandala Vol. 2, Today’s Mathematics celebrates the breadth of talent on deck over sixteen carefully-selected new tracks. Showcasing the depth of lyricists and producers that the MMG squad has to offer, the LP delivers everything from brag rap workouts, electro funk excursions, tales of relationships turned sour and late night kush soundtracks.
Audible Doctor contributes three cuts - “No Design To This” features former Onyx MC Fredro Starr, and bodes well for their forthcoming album project, while “Space Age Love” is a rolling instrumental groove built upon layered vocal snippets and horn hits, while “The Last Real One” combines the minds of veteran PRT rapper Wise Intelligent with young gun Has-Lo.
Gensu Dean provides the backing for Yarbrough’s verbal assault on “Stand Hard In A Circle Of Thieves,” unleashes menacing keys for “Advanced Degrees” (featuring Howard Lloyd on vocal duties) and brings that 12-bit grit for Blacastan to let loose with for the punishing “Stardust.” Apollo Brown teams up with Murs for the engaging narrative of “The Pain Is Gone,” before lacing the Ugly Heroes with a melancholy backdrop for “Pay Attention.”
The Heroes also contribute “Low Serotonin” over a blistering Oddisee beat, while third of the trio Verbal Kent reunites with Kaz 1 for “Beast Mode,” which also boasts some heavy scratch-hook work from the legendary DJ Eclipse. Def Dee laces Jamall Bufford’s “Keep It On The Hush” with an early 90’s N-Tyce vocal grab for the hook, and duets with yU on the breezy “Listen To Me.” 14KT’s sole contribution is the powerful “Up” with songstress Muhsinah, while Duke Westlake recruits former Little Brother MC Rapper Big Pooh and Stik Figa from Kansas for the head-nodding “Juk.”
Rounding off proceedings, Oddisee provides the masterfully-constructed “Le Boulevard Montmartre” instrumental, sporting crunchy snares and filtered bass in a manner that would make Pete Rock proud, while Georgia Anne Muldrow‘s “Mantra (Tut’s Revenge)” recalls the sound of early LA electro greats such as The Egyptian Lover and the Arabian Prince with a dusted, addictive groove.
Acting as both an ideal introduction to the Mello Music Group roster for newer listeners and a celebration of the strength of the label for existing fans, Mandala Vol. 2, Today’s Mathematics is an essential experience for anyone with an ear for soulful music that isn’t afraid to stay down to earth while shooting for the stars.
G.Dot & Born f/ Grap Luva, Rob-O & EDO.G - "Living Legend" (A Pete Rock Dedication)
Hip-Hop legend Edo.G teams up with his apprentices G. Dot & Born, Boston natives, to shine light on their story and style while also providing their own sound. All production is handled by Confidence, who's claim to fame includes "Rashad and Confidence" and "Purpose and Confidence" on Ill Adrenaline Records and he produced seven tracks on Neek the Exotic’s “Hustle Don’t Stop” LP from 2012.
The LP is fourteen tracks deep with Gdot & Born handling about half the duties on the mic, with the remaining tracks being handled by Edo.G, providing listeners with a nice diversity; while Confidence keeps a steady stream of that authentic Hip-Hop he is known for throughout.
Confidence, a student of the game dating back to the 90’s, first got a taste of music production in the mid 90′s while learning to DJ with his brother Technic. His break didn't come until 2001 when he copped an MPC 2000xl which he still uses to this day to compose masterpieces.
G. Dot & Born relay the struggle of survival in the streets with hard-hitting raw lyrics, traditional gritty street beats and a confident delivery that takes Hip-Hop back to its essence. G. Dot and Born stay true to the city of Boston that raised them and 90’s Hip Hop influences like J. Dilla, Sean P., Big Pun, Edo G., Kool G. Rap, AZ and Nas by embodying a humble braggadocio that only real life experiences teach you.
Today, the group offers up a tribute song, “Living Legend,” dedicated to the one and only Pete Rock, featuring Pete’s former INI cohorts Grap Luva (Pete’s brother), Rob-O & EDO. G.
